In this paper, he describes three basic ‘3D printing’ techniques to create plastic parts layer by layer, using photopolymerization. Automatic Method for Fabricating a Three-Dimensional Plastic Model with PhotoHardening Polymer, in Review of Scientific Instruments.Three-Dimensional Data Display by Automatic Preparation of a Three-Dimensional Model : he explains his work in detail and all the experiments that brought him to conceive the ancestor of stereolithography (SLA).To support his experiments, Dr Kodama wrote two fundamental papers on rapid prototyping: Unfortunately, because of a funding issue, the full patent specification was not filled within the one-year deadline after application. He described his system as follow: a vat of photopolymer material is exposed to a UV light that hardens the part and builds up the model in layers. He applied for a patent for his rapid prototyping system in Japan, in May 1980. Japanese Doctor Hideo Kodama of Nagoya Municipal Industrial Research Institute was among the first to invent a single-beam laser curing approach. filed a patent for Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM)ĭr Kodama creates the ancestor of SLA A missed patent (1980) In this article, we’re concentrating in 3D printing processes invented during the 1980’s:ġ980: first patent by Japanese Dr Kodama for Rapid prototypingġ984: Stereolithography by French then abandonedġ986: Stereolithography taken up by Charles Hull, founder of 3D Systemsġ988: Carl Deckard brought a patent for the SLS technology,ġ988: Scott Crump, a co-founder of Stratasys Inc. It’s very interesting to see how it evolved from chemical experiments to an industry. In a previous article, we narrated the History of 3D printing. Today, we invite you in a trip in the past, to get to know those women and men better and understand what mood and state of mind they were in when they created what we call today additive manufacturing. But maybe they didn’t know how it was gonna evolve and prompt profound transformation in the whole manufacturing world. But who were the men and women behind this incredible innovation? We can guess they perfectly knew they had created a revolutionary process. From 1980 to 1988, many experiments were made and different 3D printing processes were created.

I for the life of me can’t remember what I did in the past to make this not happen. If you are applying the blur to say this simple circle scene of mine, the blur gets cropped at the bounding box. The thing I don’t understand is the issue of the bounding box. That Matte-Blur is nice because you can choose Radial or Directional, change the radius of the blur, you can choose Directional and then choose a directional angle and falloff rate, and you can invert the matte all within this modules properties. It is so easy to just overlook or just not find things at first glance when going into the Node Library. Icanau, now that I am looking through the modules, it looks like maybe the simplest thing is to do a Matte-Resize and a Matte-Blur that connects into the Blur-Gaussian matte port. I think I am confusing myself now, sorry, hope that helps some. I attached it after the Matte’s Blur module and before inputing it to the final Blur. That Negate module that is unattached I was experimenting with to have the matte inverse so that it was blurry just on the outline of the sphere. Here is my attempt to soften that hard circle: You can even give that Matte a Blur to get some gradations or feathering like in that tutorial. Or you can just take a brush and draw with black in that Matte and it will limit the effect of that blur. Then when you adjust the blur amount it should only blur what is contained in black in that Matte drawing.ĭoesn’t have to be a stroke, you can make any kind of object, here is a case where I just used a circle with a black fill to limit the blur effect. Use a black stroke and input that into the Matte port. Copy the stroke of that sun into a new drawing layer and play with the stroke of it, increase it, etc. In that tutorial example you could take the sun and in Harmony use a Gaussian Blur. Howdy, If you use a Gaussian-Blur it should have a Matte input port. It also show that can give the illusion of punching above your weight with some trick, he might tempt over qualified artist to do the same and improve upon what he did. He is attracting attention, which is the main problem of indie in flooded market, so it was a good strategy. However, originality is not what audience look for, they look for a twist on familiar stuff. He build around "cliché", if you familiar with manga and asiatique production you see a certain number of tropes that he reused, the scene where buried hand start to glow, I must have seen that 10x before. In his scene, the environment is never "intimate", it's always the ground and 2 or 3 meter away from focus, bringing character front and center (where the detailed character pop) while the environment became just a setting signifier.Ĥ. People focus less on environment than character. Even I see the accent first before the sparse composition and thought he did it himself.ģ. That's why I think people don't register it as generic too much, it rather subliminal. He used ready made asset he bought, but he also used some visual accent that break the genericness. You might hate the design but then it's a culture on his own, it does not change the benefit.Ģ. he focus on character, especially the face, with a style people can immediately recognize and an audience immediately relate to. Well I think that more important than the flaws is that profane don't see them, I think we can learn from THAT instead of nitpicking stuff.ġ. I still hope the dev gets a good return on his tremendous efforts and wish him good luck. Its clearly not my game both because of gameplay and visual styling, and I question wheter some decisions when it comes to quality especially in the cutscenes were wise given that you still can clearly see the limitations, and if the trailer really does a good job on selling the title. There are parts of what is on show that I thouroughly like. Really, I applaud the dev for getting this far on his own. But it clearly is to long for a simple show off trailer, and to badly structured and "narrated" to be a very informative story or gameplay trailer. I am not saying the trailer is BAD, especially once you read the "one guy made all of this" narrative. Which kind of made me wonder if there is any substance behind the cutscenes in the game, or if it is just showing off. Seems like the cutscene moments of the trailer were just there to show off the visual quality of the cutscenes. Well, I will from now on wait for reviews before watching a Pixar movie. I went to two Pixar movies lately because the Trailers looked hilarious, only to find out the trailers were actually just the only good part of the movie ripped out of it and shown in whole, while the rest of the movie followed an extremly boring cookie cutter story. but I don't think that is a good thing to do. I know, its the current fad in movie trailers to just show a cut together bunch of highlights that just show action and explosions, without giving the viewer ANY hint of the story unfolding. The cutscenes do not really tell any meaningful story. Could have been cut to fewer highlights, or instead with added text blurps hinting at the gameplay features included. Gameplay looks repetitive, though the cool animations do stand out. it just doesn't seem to communicate anything that well. Just - make - the - characters - look - distinct! If that means adding some ugly characters, I am all for it. I mean come on, not every hero and villain has to look like a supermodel. Besides the crappy costumes, that would also be the sameish looking faces. So I do not really dig the character design. Its the one thing that really killed the series for me after FF7 (besides dumbing down the explorative aspects and the stories becoming more and more baroque). Dunno about the gameplay, I am not into button mashers. Which is quite a feat with 3D animations. Distinctively japanese anime style, but well done. Just take the money spent on voice acting (I hope you DID spend something on it ), and re-invest it where it has a better impact. ESPECIALLY if paired to stiff facial animation. Your players can read, and a good bunch enjoy reading more than hearing badly recorded voice acting. Really, a shout out for Indies to stop trying to imitate the voice acting shenigans of the big boys and just go with text boxes. they fall into the uncanny valley were a cutscene looks to real to get away with mistakes in models, animation and voice acting, but is not well done enough to crawl out of that hole. A general ledger includes a complete record of all financial transactions for a period of time.Īll changes to the business’s assets, liabilities, equity, revenues, and expenses are recorded in the general ledger as journal entries. How Are Debits and Credits Recorded?ĭebits and credits are recorded in your business’s general ledger. The table below shows how debits and credits affect the different accounts. Meanwhile, she credits the same amount to her Loans Payable account (a liability account) to record the debt she has taken on for the bank loan. Since funds are flowing into the Cash account, it is recorded as a debit. The money she receives from the bank increases her Cash account (an asset account). In a double-entry accounting system, every transaction impacts at least two accounts. What Is the Difference Between a Debit and a Credit?ĭebits and credits are bookkeeping entries that balance each other out. Each sheet of paper in the folder is a transaction, which is entered as either a debit or credit. Within each, you can have multiple accounts (like Petty Cash, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory within Assets). These 5 account types are like the drawers in a filing cabinet. Examples include advertising, rent, and wages. Expense AccountsĮxpenses are the costs of operations that a business incurs to generate revenues. Revenue accounts are accounts related to income earned from the sale of products and services. In accounting, owner’s equity (or shareholders’ equity) represents the money or property that could be returned to owners (or shareholders) if all of the company’s assets were liquidated and all of its debts were paid off. Liabilities are obligations that the company is required to pay, such as accounts payable, loans payable, and payroll taxes. Asset AccountsĪssets are items that provide future economic benefits to a company, such as cash, accounts receivable, inventory, and equipment. Unlike transformers, opto-isolators can pass DC or slow-moving signals and do not require matching impedances between input and output sides. Typical opto-isolators can only modulate the flow of energy already present on the output side. Unlike transformers, which pass energy in both directions with very low losses, opto-isolators are unidirectional (see exceptions) and they cannot transmit power. It transforms useful input signal into light, sends it across the dielectric channel, captures light on the output side and transforms it back into electric signal. Opto-isolator specifications published by manufacturers always follow at least one of these regulatory frameworks.Īn opto-isolator connects input and output sides with a beam of light modulated by input current. Safety, testing and approval of opto-couplers are regulated by national and international standards: IEC 6, EN (CENELEC) 6, UL 1577, CSA Component Acceptance Notice #5, etc. They contain a single physical isolation barrier, but provide protection equivalent to double isolation. Transformers and opto-isolators are the only two classes of electronic devices that offer reinforced protection - they protect both the equipment and the human user operating this equipment. Historically, this function was delegated to isolation transformers, which use inductive coupling between galvanically isolated input and output sides. The main function of an opto-isolator is to block such high voltages and voltage transients, so that a surge in one part of the system will not disrupt or destroy the other parts. A circuit can also incorporate high voltages by design, in which case it needs safe, reliable means of interfacing its high-voltage components with low-voltage ones. Remote lightning strikes can induce surges up to 10 kV, one thousand times more than the voltage limits of many electronic components. Įlectronic equipment and signal and power transmission lines can be subjected to voltage surges induced by lightning, electrostatic discharge, radio frequency transmissions, switching pulses (spikes) and perturbations in power supply. Relative sizes of LED (red) and sensor (green) are exaggerated. Planar (top) and silicone dome (bottom) layouts - cross-section through a standard dual in-line package. A slotted optical switch contains a source of light and a sensor, but its optical channel is open, allowing modulation of light by external objects obstructing the path of light or reflecting light into the sensor. An optocoupled solid-state relay contains a photodiode opto-isolator which drives a power switch, usually a complementary pair of MOSFETs. Since LEDs can sense light in addition to emitting it, construction of symmetrical, bidirectional opto-isolators is possible. The sensor can be a photoresistor, a photodiode, a phototransistor, a silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) or a triac. The fastest opto-isolators use PIN diodes in photoconductive mode.Īn opto-isolator contains a source (emitter) of light, almost always a near infrared light-emitting diode (LED), that converts electrical input signal into light, a closed optical channel (also called dielectrical channel ), and a photosensor, which detects incoming light and either generates electric energy directly, or modulates electric current flowing from an external power supply. They attain medium data transfer speed, sufficient for applications like electroencephalography. The majority of opto-isolators on the market use bipolar silicon phototransistor sensors. Commercialization of LED technology in 1968–1970 caused a boom in optoelectronics, and by the end of the 1970s the industry developed all principal types of opto-isolators. They are the slowest, but also the most linear isolators and still retain a niche market in the audio and music industries. Photoresistor-based opto-isolators were introduced in 1968. The value of optically coupling a solid state light emitter to a semiconductor detector for the purpose of electrical isolation was recognized in 1963 by Akmenkalns, et al. Moreover, as reported in our overall GTA 6 guide, the game is supposedly based on Vice City. There is no reason to break the pattern with GTA 6 as well. Since the release of GTA Vice City, every GTA title has been released on a Tuesday. But, please keep in mind that we are merely speculating the date, and there is no official announcement yet. With both these leaks and the previous release dates in mind, we expect GTA 6 to release in October or November of 2024. Back in March, Klippel claimed that GTA 6 won’t release before the last months of 2024. This was later backed by Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier in a separate Twitter thread, who expects a release date of late 2024 or early 2025. Keeping that in mind, we expect to witness the release of GTA 6 in the final months of the upcoming years.Īt the moment, the most reliable idea of GTA VI’s release date we have is from Chris Klippel, a popular GTA leaker. Leaving that aside, we have four titles in the last two weeks of October and three in November. The only exception is GTA 4, which was released in April 2008. GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive EditionĪs you might notice, Rockstar Games have released all its major games in the Fall months of each year.
